In the Sustainable Brand Index survey<\/a>, Finnish consumers once again chose the most responsible brands in their country. Among the top ten most responsible brands, there are as many as four cooperative companies or their brands.<\/p>\n

Dairy Cooperative Valio<\/a><\/strong> was the winner for the seventh consecutive year. According to the study, people attach great importance to Valio’s domestic products, animal welfare and environmentally friendly packaging.<\/p>\n

Second came consumer cooperative S Group\u2019s S-market<\/strong><\/a> and their other grocery store chain Prisma<\/strong><\/a> ranked fourth. In fifth place was S Group’s Kotimaista<\/strong> -brand. Also, the consumer cooperative\u2019s Sokos Hotels<\/strong><\/a> and S-Bank<\/strong><\/a> were most responsible in their respective industries.  Mutual insurance company Local Tapiola<\/strong><\/a> was also the most responsible operator of its industry.<\/p>\n

Europe’s largest sustainability survey<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Sustainable Brand Index, carried out by the Swedish SB Insight since 2011, is Europe’s largest sustainability survey. In Finland, the survey has been conducted eight times.<\/p>\n

The aim of the study is to disseminate and increase knowledge on sustainable development. A total of around 58,000 respondents were interviewed in the 2020 survey in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Respondents in each country were selected from a representative sample of the population. A total of 9,480 people in Finland responded to the 2020 survey.<\/p>\n

A total of 1,400 brands were evaluated using the UN Global Goals. There were 195 brands evaluated in Finland. The survey was conducted between November 2019 and February 2020 and the surveyed brands were selected for the survey based on their market position, sales, market share and brand awareness.<\/p>\n\t
